A leading communications company have an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Manager : Financial Operations to join their team in Johannesburg .

The Senior Manager : Financial Operations will provide financial analysis, support and guidance to designated areas of the business to improve accuracy and efficacy of financial data, systems and contracts.

Your key job responsibilities as the Senior Manager : Financial Operations in Johannesburg will include :

  • Assist in the formulation of strategy, and facilitate the budget and planning activities whilst ensuring alignment with Group requirements
  • Monitor and report on progress of budget, plans and forecasts
  • Proactively analyse and constructively challenge strategy, budget and plans in context to the operations
  • Provide insights to business unit on cost leadership initiatives
  • Monitor and proactively advice on business risk evaluation and mitigation measures, in conjunction with the risk and compliance function
  • Provide independent evaluation and advisory support on various proposals for investments, Capex and Opex items
  • Apply standard methodology and valuation techniques to determine business case and investment
  • Establish measurable performance parameters and standardized sources for measurement, to evaluate ongoing success of such decisions
  • Proactively analyse, monitor, challenge and advise on investment and Capex items against anticipated risk, and returns to evaluate viability and profitability (as applicable)
  • Ensure compliance to Group Governance protocols and policies (committee approvals, DoA, process etc.)
  • Contribute to the establishment of performance measures and KPIs at various levels of the business (Programme Management Office, Solution Delivery, Governance)
  • Requirements for this Senior Manager : Financial Operations job in Johannesburg :

  • Qualified CA(SA) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience
  • Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, P&L, Operational and
  • Cost Management experience in a large organisation
  • Experience in delivery of high-quality analytics
  • Experience in contractual agreements and compliance
  • High commitment to results
  • Understanding of project management and governance
  • Key mobile telecom and associated technologies
  • RAFM systems and tools, BI, AI & ML systems
  • Understanding of Databases, Big Data and centralised concepts
