The position of Senior Business Analyst reports to the Head of Digital & Projects
To analyse and understand project scope and core objectives
Lead requirements elicitation workshops with stakeholders to define high-level business requirements
Plan and lead workshops with stakeholders and technical resources to elicit detailed, low-level functional requirements
Assist stakeholders to prioritise the requirements
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down high-level information into their constituent details, abstract up from low-
level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs.
Collaborate with technical lead and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
Working closely with the Stakeholders to define business requirements for functional and technical user stories and project specifications, by ensuring that projects are broken down into phases to deliver immediate business benefit
Proactively communicate and collaborate with the project team to analyse information needs and functional requirements to deliver the following artefacts as needed :
Business / functional requirement specification
Workflow / process flow diagrams
Data Model / s
Obtain sign-off on the specifications
Build and maintain reporting to measure the success of projects
Be proactive in ensuring that the development and QA teams understand the requirements by attending daily team meetings and initiating functional clarification sessions where needed.
Setting timelines, driving project schedules and leading cross-functional development teams from design through to release.
Be the liaison between the business and the engineering team.
Project management of technical projects, including gathering relevant stakeholder input, managing the development process and timelines, release planning and stakeholder communications
Review the test plan and test scripts to ensure quality and coverage.
Performing user acceptance testing. Take ownership for system bugs and technical issues that are escalated to you from various users, by performing relevant technical analysis to troubleshoot, escalating to engineering for resolution where required and communicating to stakeholders the impact and outcome of the resolution

Ability to verbalise and visualise outcomes and communicate trends in a clear, concise manner
Intermediate to advanced SQL skills
Qualifications & Experience :
Relevant tertiary degree (Computer Science / Engineering / Informatics) or similar degree.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in business analysis, product management or a related field.
Experience defining solutions for internal and external customer-facing websites, mobile applications and systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including technical and non-technical individuals.
Experience with working with large text files is a plus
Experience in an agile / iterative project management and development environment is a plus
Experience in an e-commerce environment is a plus
