Purpose of the Job Overall responsibility for the design, development and testing of new products and value engineering of existing products in line with the business strategy of increasing product range and diversity to new and / or existing customers and markets, as part of delivering increasing value to our customers over time and continuously innovating and differentiating our product and service offering through collaboration with our Sales and Marketing teams.
Qualification Requirements Mechanical Engineering Degree - BSc Engineering or Engineering Master’s Degree advantageous Minimum 10 years proven work experience in a product design environment.
Experience in building prototypes and testing of products. Knowledge & Experience 2D and 3D CAD modelling experience essential Proven record in project management Ability to read mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics Ability to perform engineering analysis, design, drafting and technical report writing.
Capable of managing multiple projects at various stages of planning, design, procurement and implementation. Competencies -

Prepare engineering analysis of design projects to include preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection.
Perform Mechanical engineering design pertaining to the following : mechanical products (new and existing), devices and components.
Perform product related testing and implementation including underground tests. Manage project issues, budget adherence and schedules.
Provide technical presentations to appointed Boards and Exco. Provide production drawings and specifications completed and filed to company ISO9001 standards.
Develop and implement Quality plans Assist in production process design Market validation Project plan, timeline and volumes Resource requirements Product sales and management Training and preparation of sales teams Legal and industry compliance, including product specifications, risk assessment, installation charts, brochures, website, etc.
