Quality Assurance Manager : Internal Audit Medical Scheme Pretoria

The Quality Assurance Manager will report directly to the Internal Chief Audit Executive and forms part of the Internal Audit Division.

The position is based at Head Office.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs) :

  • ü Ensure Internal Audit Policies and Procedures are aligned to Internal Audit Methodology, IIA requirements, King IV and the Medical Schemes Act;
  • ü Monitor and report the performance of the function against the internal audit definition, IIA standards, regulation, policies and procedures through ongoing and periodic reviews;
  • ü Develop and maintain a quality assurance and improvement program that covers all aspects of the internal audit function, including continuous and periodic internal assessments;
  • ü Develop and update training materials for internal audit activities;
  • ü Facilitate, deliver and monitor training of auditors (either in-house, co-sourced or out-sourced) on the organisations internal audit policies and procedures as an induction and on ongoing basis;
  • ü Develop working and reporting templates to facilitate adherence to the internal audit policies and procedures;
  • ü Administer and report on the outcomes of the post engagement client surveys .

    Requirements :

  • ü Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), with a relevant degree;
  • ü Minimum 4 years experience in internal auditing, 2 of which must have been in management of the Quality Assurance & Improvement Program;
  • ü Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors;
  • ü Staff management experience;
  • ü Knowledge of the medical scheme industry would be advantageous;
  • ü Comprehensive knowledge and experience in designing, implementing and reviewing internal audit policies and procedures in alignment with IIA standards;
  • ü Excellent computer literacy and MS Office skills;
  • ü Sound qualitative and quantitative analysis skills;
  • ü Excellent communication and writing skills;
  • ü Sound planning / project management skills;
  • ü Attention to detail;
  • ü Ability to work independently, organise tasks efficiently and perform the audit function accurately.

    ü Able to cope under pressure

    ü Ability to demonstrate highest level of ethical behaviour
