Minimum Grade 1, Boilermaker Red Seal or Coded welder in GMAW / FCAW / SMAW / TIFG processes is required.
Must be able to read and understand shop floor drawings, obtain parts and materials.
Must have knowledge in making use of disc grinders to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.
Knowledge in operating manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece is essential.
Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding) and examine weld for bead size and other specifications is required.
Must be able to draw templates and basic drawings for fabrication.
Fabricate new or replacement parts often without manufacturing drawings and assemble component parts using hand and power tools
