Purpose of the Job :
Manage a group of technicians and / or engineers that deal with serial testing tasks and contribute to these tasks by his / her own experience.
Ensure timely execution and respect of EHS requirements.
Organizational Reporting : Serial Test Manager
Respect and Promote strict compliance with EHS rules, local regulation and AZDP
Deploy standard T&C processes
Contribute to T&C management team
Ensure T&C team management
Ensure a good working relationship with the other departments (Eng, Industr, Q, Supply Chain)
Provide technical support and expertise to serial testing team
Engage actively in own abroad training (Europe and Brazil)
Contribute strongly to local recruitment and training of T&C team as well as to subsequent ramp-up
Other job functions as required by management
Ensure appropriate staff recruitment, deployment, rotation and turn-over
Manage serial testing team organization
Manage training and accreditation of T&C staff
Manage static test workshop and dynamic test track operations
Ensure timely execution of serial testing and associated troubleshooting
Ensure delivery of proper documentation after test execution
Ensure strict compliance with EHS rules and regulations within testing workshop and dynamic test track
Educational Requirements :
MSc / BSc (preferably Electrical Engineering) / Technical Diploma
Desired Knowledge / Experience & Behaviour :
Min 5-10 years’ experience in commissioning and testing of electrical systems within process industry, railways or factory automation.
Management experience of a team or several teams of test technicians is mandatory.
Be familiar with high risk activities in association with Electrical work and EHS requirements
Have a good understanding of key electrical and / or mechanical processes (in particular earthing & bonding, cabling, protection and instrumentation, )
A solid understanding of power electronics will be beneficial
Ability to read electrical schematics and to write application software (if required).
Ability to integrate across multi-disciplinary electrical activities (MV, Control & Instrumentation, Protection, Software)
Excellent communication, simplifier of complex situation and / or subjects
Organized, rigorous and delivery focused (good problem solver)
Ability to manage a team of specialists and evolve in a management team
Flexible and willing to accept new roles
Job Mobility / Location :
Wolmerton, 6-12months, thus final site (Ekurhuleni area)
With an initial training period of several months abroad in Brazil and / or Europe
