An American meat processing company based in Dallas,Texas,,USA, with large meat abattoirs / processing centres in Bukoba, Kagera Region in Tanzania and they are looking for 2 Processed Meats Managers for the 2 factories.
These are expatriate positions in East Africa-Tanzania, therefore African work experience would be an added advantage.
Duties : Responsible for all process plant operations at a Management level;Oversee the Process Plant Supervisors and Store men;
Plan and co-ordinate production and raw material supplies in response to orders and direction from EMIs Sales and Marketing Department;
Visit customers and suppliers when required;Monitor and control production processes to control product formulations, minimise stock wastage and maximise efficiency;
Manage the formulation of established product lines to maintain product quality whilst controlling costs;Plan, build and implement high capacity lines for major product groups;
Develop new and innovative products to market in Middle East (Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia) and Europe;Continue to expand plant capacity in line with demand for finished products;
Train staff and employees in order to implement new, efficient and safe work practices;In co-operation with the Quality Department develop and implement the HACCP Plan and Quality Program;
Develop budgets and monitor financial performance;Participate with EMIs management team in general Company activities such as planning.
Scale and Territory : The plants currently employ 450 people of whom 55 are production contractors and the rest staff (including 15 Supervisors and 6 Store-men).
Annual production is 7300 tons which includes a wide range of halaal / kosher products (retail packed fresh meat, fresh sausages, cooked sausages, polonaise etc.
that are sold to customers in the Middle East(Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia) and Europe.
Remuneration : Salary US$96,000.00 (TCT including live-in allowance, company car and accommodation);Company sponsored return ticket to country of origin (6 weeks Annual Leave basis) per year;
Technical Skills and Qualifications : The applicant should : Have a good academic ability and qualifications but these may not necessarily be in Meat Science or Food Technology;
Have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the manufacture of processed meats products with at least two (2) years in a management role;
Maintain a good up-to-date knowledge of process improvements and technical developments;Have the ability to design and document innovative production programs;
Have good verbal and written communication skills;Be able to read and understand financial accounts plus prepare enterprise budgets;
Be able to prepare an accurate product costing;
