Our client, a company in the wine industry, is looking at employing a Regional Sales Manager for the Western Cape area.
Purpose of the job :
To call on the customer base that will result in sustainable growth in sales volume and value by managing regional key accounts, Sales Agents and / or Reps.
To ensure 100% store execution in terms of sales, merchandising, delivery service and promotions as negotiated.
To continuously seek new customers and markets with special focus on the mass / emerging markets and international sales.
To work on events to ensure full execution to encourage public interest and purchase of the client’s products.
Deliverables / Tasks / Accountabilities :
Management and profitability for the region through motivation and deployment of staff and resources.
To plan and ensure Reps work to trip plan to offer a predictable sales call to set of key customers.
To ensure / monitoring servicing of all stores to gain sales volume and shelf space in excess of sales share.
To ensure merchandising and displays built as negotiated with key accounts.
Seek in-store branding opportunities.
In collaboration with Sales Representatives to seek potential in-store promotions and execution thereof to maximise sales out.
Draw up and execute business plans for region with focus on key customers and for the mass / emerging markets.
Budgetary control of all aspects pertaining to the region, including controlling and managing promotional budget (forward share, tastings and promotions, promo liquor).
Manage and oversee debtors’ collections by working together with the sales personnel.
Managing of sourcing of vehicles and the maintenance thereof.
Complete and submit monitoring reports which will include budgets, business planning, strategic focus, and profitability.
Ensure price compliance.
To ensure compliance to all safety and health rules and regulations /
Liaise with customers if and when delivery promise is not fulfilled.
In collaboration with depot management to ensure sufficient stock to meet customer orders.
Manage and provide an excellent customer service to client base and agents.
Manage the relationship with all agents - international to current and future clients as well as national.
Managing international key accounts also key wine festivals with agents.
Coordinate creation of orders on relevant systems and logistics.
Responsible for controlling all stocks and stock take and allocation for stocks.
Manage all relating administrating relevant to sales, quotes, export documents, debtors etc.
Manage weekly sales graphs, visitor’s graphs, and bottle sales graphs.
Assisting with the forecast (budget) and Financial Manager with all monthly sales reports and P&L report.
Working closely with the Winemaker regarding stock figures and forecast.
Qualifications / Skills :
Preferably a tertiary qualification in the related field of local and international sales and marketing.
Communication skills and the ability to speak English and Afrikaans.
Valid driver’s license.
Computer literate : Excel / Word / PowerPoint / E-mails.
Budgetary and cost control.
Negotiation and influencing skills.
5 to 10 Years’ experience in sales operations in the FMCG industry local and international.
Characteristics : Honest.

Market related salary on offer.
