Provide input into strategic objectives and ensure delivery thereof.Job ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development of differentiated, superior solutions (solution engineering) that meet stakeholder and business requirements.

Ensure product and / or solution design is congruent with the required business specifications.Enable the realisation of the financial business benefits accruing including minimisation of operational costs.

Contribute to the development of differentiated, superior solutions (solution engineering) that meet stakeholder and business requirements.

Ensure business needs are met through consistent engagement and assistance to business, Provide stakeholders with appropriate insights and enable business growth through delivering analytical results, recommendations, research, analytical methods, appropriate systems and market insights.

Understand internal and / or external client needs and requirements.Ensure transformational target are met.Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in Nedbank culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI.

Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and values, leading by example.

Participate in the development and implement action plans to address issues raised in culture surveys to improve results.

Create a client service culture.Achieve operational excellence.Encourage team to generate innovative ideas and share knowledge.

Manage performance of staff by implementing performance agreements and ensuring a clear vision. Mentor and coach staff on identified performance gaps.

Motivate staff to perform and contribute to the success of the business by creating environment of teamwork through engaging with staff (sharing information) and encouraging participation in decision making processes.

Follow the recruitment process when recruiting talent.Maintain a high performing team and ensure an environment for optimal performance is created by identifying talent pool through career conversations, using the talent grid principles and developing talent retention programmes.

Ensure self and staff understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and values by leading by example and re-enforcing values during meetingsManage the onboarding process of new employees.

Produce results in line with business strategy and requirements.Ensure team has been allocated with a Balance Scorecard with clear measurements.

Evaluate team performance in accordance to key indicators in Balance Scorecard Design Development Plans of the team guided by the Career Pathing framework.

Essential QualificationsMatric / Grade 12 / National Senior CertificateBachelors degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics, Statistics , Actuarial Science or equivalent qualificationPost graduate qualification advantageousMinimum Experience LevelMinimum 5 years experience in Senior Quants or Senior manager position within an analytical area at a financial institution.

Technical Skills Strong inter-personal accumen and management skillsAdvanced quantitative skills, including machine learning, statistics, business analytics and working with large data setsAdvanced programming skills in analytical languages (SAS / Python / SQL)Strategic thinking (enabling business strategy via analytics) and ability to translate data narrative to business narrativeExcellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong desire to work in cross functional teams Please contact the Nedbank Recruiting Team at
