A leading company specialising in the manufacturing of spices, requires the above to develop new recipes for customer and innovation projects, conduct product trials at clients and deliver presentations on new product development.
Minimum requirements for the role :
BSc / National Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science or related qualification is essential.
Minimum of 3 years’ previous work experience in a product development / application role is essential.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be computer literate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Meeting project goals by developing commercially viable products, preparing application samples, recording information and creating documentation accurately.
Performing sensory evaluations.
Preparing application samples and performing analytical checks on development samples.
Selecting and sampling seasoning applications for customer requirements.
Researching new ingredients and developing formulations.
Liaising with QA, sourcing and production departments.
Coordinating and keeping record of samples coming in and going out of the laboratory.
Liaising with suppliers regarding raw material documentation and samples.
Managing development projects and organising project information.
Formulating of new products, line extensions or matches as per brief.
Compiling technical documentation and completing production handover.
Ensuring the Good Laboratory Practice is maintained in the application laboratory.
Attending factory trials when requested, both in-house and on customer premises.
Collaborating with the technical project manager and sales on all development projects.
