Mukuru is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crimes Department.

This position will be based in Cape Town.The Transaction Monitoring Analyst reports directly to the Head of AML.This position is responsible for carrying out transaction analysis on flagged transactions, assisting with due diligence auditing and spot checking suspicious transactions as well as capturing all required compliance information for regulatory reports across a variety of corridors.

Internal liaison takes place with the compliance team. External liaison is limited.Duties and Responsibilities (include but is not limited to) : Carry out transaction investigations on flagged suspicious activitiesMonitor internal alerts and flags for suspicious transactionsInvestigate all flagged transactionConduct transaction investigationsProvide feedback and remove alerts if approvedEscalate unresolved investigations to Head of AMLProvide feedback on transaction audits and spot checks to the Head of AMLAssist the Head of AML in conducting transaction auditsCarry out spot checks on transactionsCompile comprehensive reports on all non-compliance and suspicious transactionsAssist with carrying out in-country transaction due diligence audits and sampling spot checksAssist the Head of AML in carrying out in-country transaction due diligence audits for a variety of corridorsConduct sampling spot checksProvide feedback on all issues and concerns to Transaction Monitoring Team LeaderManage own professional and self-developmentKey Requirements : Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)1 years AML / Compliance experience (Essential)Working experience in an FSB regulated business (Desirable)Must achieve minimum AML scores consistentlyKnowledge of administrative proceduresKnowledge of AML and complianceKnowledge of regulatory bodiesAdditional Skills : Attention to detailComputer skillsVerbal and written communication skillsOrganizational & administrative skillsAccurate filing and record-keeping skillsShould you be appointed in a remote / work from home role at Mukuru, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have uninterrupted internet connectivity and a work-like environment at your home location, in order to deliver your best in terms of performance, productivity and service to our customers.
