NATIONAL PRODUCTION MANAGER for large firm based in Midrand PURPOSE : The National Production Manager will lead and manage the production management team and their overall performance.

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the manufacturing processes of the 9 moulding factories and 2 milling plants.

This includes the planning, coordination and execution required to meet flexible and varied sales demand as well as stock holding, quality, cost and efficiency targets.

In addition, the NPM will be expected to maintain and improve labour relations, housekeeping and the overall condition of all production related assets and properties.

The NPM is a member of the Executive Committee and will contribute to the strategy and overall business plan and its execution.

QUALIFICATIONS An NQF level 7 or equivalent qualification in a mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering, or supply chain management.

A bachelor’s degree in any one of these qualifications will be advantageous. Likewise, will training and qualifications in operational methods such as Lean and Six Sigma and Production Management.

WORK EXPERIENCE 10 15 years’ work experience, with suitable exposure to a multi-site manufacturing operation. At least 5 years in middle management position.

Ideally 3 years at senior operations management. Experience in the operation of electrical and hydraulic equipment in plastic conversion will be a major advantage KEY SKILLS & FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES Industry specific knowledge Has technical and business knowledge and understanding that is appropriate to a manufacturing business of the size and complexity envisaged.

Financial Accountability Ability to allocate resources, plan procurement, and oversee budgets and contracts to ensure favourable commercial outcomes.

Project Management Initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria at the specified time, achieving project goals given the constraints.

Knowledge Professional Has a designated level of professional skill and / or knowledge in specific area(s) and to keep current with developments and trends in area(s) of expertise, usually acquired through tertiary education.

Managing Work Processes Ability to measure and evaluate work processes, services and products to achieve organisational goals.

Ability to redesign processes as needed using best methods and technology to meet or exceed business needs. Ability to use appropriate methods to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and measure impact.

Decision Making Is able to choose a course or action from a set of alternatives to achieve organizational or managerial objectives or goals.

Critical Thinking Ability to objectively analyse and evaluate an issue in order to form judgement. Collaboration Ability to build relationships in order to establish mutually beneficial objectives.

Coordination of Work Ability to follow instructions through a standard work process. Ability to perform routine tasks and check for accuracy before completion.

People Development Superior people development abilities encompassing several competencies, including training & development, coaching and mentoring and managing for performance.

Leadership Superior leadership competencies including planning for the future, ability to influence through effective targeted communication as well as the ability to manage change and extract value from risk / opportunity.

Personal Management Has superior understanding of self and embraces continuous personal growth. Has plans for the future and is committed to developing the competencies, skills, and technical knowledge required to achieve personal goals.

Communication Displays superior written and verbal communication skills. Is comfortable communicating at all levels in an organisation and with all stake holders.

Logical Reasoning Demonstrates superior logical reasoning skills. Understands the balance between impact of decisions, their timing and the ability to be properly informed and consulting more widely.

Is thorough and balanced in methodologies applied and recognises the effect of decisions on broader organisational systems.

Salary : R1 Million TCTC negotiable depending on the Candidate.
