The Society for Animals in Distres mission in the professional veterinary care of animals, is to engender community mobilisation and reciprocal knowledge, skills and actions that yield foundational impoverished community collaboration.

The Society for Animals in Distress seeks to appoint a Fundraising Manager to be based in Midrand.

Job Type : Full time, permanent with 6-month probationary period

They are looking for an innovative and creative Fundraising Manager to lead our fundraising efforts with the ultimate aim of which is to ensure the sustainability of the Society into the future.

Working closely with the General Manager you will be able to establish and maintain key relationships with our donors and corporates both locally and internationally.

The successful candidate will have strong social media experience and be able to maximise the returns on our social media investment.

You will need to be especially skilled at building great relationships across sectors that include corporates, international donors, trusts and welfare funders.

ABOUT YOU : You will have a successful record of accomplishment in fundraising in your career to date. The candidate will demonstrate a high level of competence in the following areas :

  • The development and implementation of fundraising strategy and tactics
  • A high level of proficiency in proposal writing, income generation, achieving financial targets, implementing marketing plans and running the operational side of a fundraising department
  • An exceptionally strong communicator who can represent The Society with confidence and poise thereby inspiring audiences with our vision and purpose
  • Skilled in the art and science of social media utilisation
  • Managing an annual fundraising calendar that includes a blend of social activities, sporting activities and other events that maximise exposure for the Society.
  • They are looking for an energetic, proactive and self-motivated individual who has a strong bias for getting things done.

    A background in animal welfare will be highly advantageous but not essential, as would a working knowledge of a charity environment.
