The Desktop Support Assistant is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting computers in the office. This may include installing software, repairing hardware, configuring networks and fixing issues with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint.

The role will also involve supporting a variety of devices including desktops, laptops and tablets to ensure they are running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Covers Windows operating systems, software, peripheral devices, and hardware
  • Investigates user-reported problems to determine the root cause.
  • Resolves software installation, configuration, driver, and maintenance issues.
  • Updates PC documentation and knowledge base information.
  • Handles hardware and software inventory for the computer room.
  • Supports users in configuring basic hardware settings, operating system Provides customer support for personal computers, laptops, tablets, and other peripherals
  • Diagnoses system problems to determine the root cause of the error or problem.
  • Assists customers by providing step-by-step instructions on how to access the operating system, files, applications, and features.
  • Provides troubleshooting assistance with security, network, or software issues.
  • Qualifications

  • Current Microsoft certification or working knowledge and understanding of this certification.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in a customer support environment
