RESEARCH COORDINATOR CORE PURPOSETo serve a central role in supporting postgraduate research student success through effective coordination and appropriate, quality academic input.

CORE FUNCTIONS : Assistance with research topics : provision of accurate and well-researched topic feedback and general topic assistance to studentsAssistance with research proposals : submission of research proposals through Turnitin;

provision of informed, well-researched, and well-considered written guidance and advice on research proposals; identification of research topics which have / may have ethical issuesAdvise and direct students through the process of applying for ethical clearanceMonitor the progress of all assigned students : ensure that all student submissions, feedback, attachments, allocation letters and communications are appropriately recorded;

acknowledge and offer resolution to any research and / or administrative related challenges raised by students; seek to resolve disputes between students and supervisorsStudent consultations : host consultation sessions with students (telephonic, MS Teams or Zoom) in order to provide relevant assistance;

provide accurate and well informed advice on research related mattersQUALIFICATION A relevant Masters degree (specialization in management / business administration related field is preferable)EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS At least 1-2 years experience within a higher education faculty and or research environmentKnowledge of research processes and methodologySKILLS AND COMPENTENCIESProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)Attention to detailAbility to work under pressureExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Honesty and integritySound moral and ethical principlesADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSMay be requested to work overtime or on weekends
