The main purpose of this position is to recruit study participants as set out in the Study Protocol and assist with data collection from participants.

This position will be based at Philippi Village as recruitment will take place within the Klipfontein District.Minimum Requirements : Grade 12 CertificateAt least 1-2 year experience in community development or NGO environmentAt least 1 -2 year experience recruiting participants for research studiesPreference will be given to male applicants due to the nature of the studyKnowledge of study protocol / regulationsApplicants must know the Klipfontein District wellComputer literacy including email, word processing, spreadsheetsExcellent Communication Skills (written and verbal) Fluent in English and isiXhosaGood administrative skillsGood planning and organisingClient (participant) focusBuilding interpersonal relationships and maintaining rapport Able to work as a member of a teamBe proactive as an individualManage multiple stakeholder relationshipsDetail orientedMaintain confidentiality Ability to work under pressure, whilst maintaining the ability to remain professionalAble to work later hours including weekends (Required to work on Saturdays;

substitute with week days)Advantageous : Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate and Human Subject Projection (HSP) CertificateDrivers licenceResponsibilities : Assist Community Liaison Coordinator (CLO) / Project Coordinator with planning and conducting of recruitment eventsApproach potential participants as guided by the recruitment plans and strategies to determine study eligibilityDescribe the study as per the guideline set by the CLO / PCO and screen potential participantsAssist with the informed consent and assent process, as requiredAssist in administering baseline surveysConduct follow up visits to ensure retention of participantsAssist with data collection from participantsMaintain confidentialityContribute by giving meaningful input to the community engagement activitiesAssist with distribution of educational materials to members of communityConstantly communicate with the CLO / PCO and community team regarding recruitment progress and challenges, and seek solutions to those challenges as a teamAssist with translation activities when necessarySubmit weekly and monthly written activity reports to the CLO / PCO and verbally report on activities at the weekly site meeting as requiredAttend study / project meetings and participate in all study training sessions as requiredValues fit : Passion Innovation Progress Integrity Respect ExcellenceSubmit CV, motivation letter with certified copy of highest qualification and details of three current contactable referees by 19 May .
