Duties and Responsibilities

Lead, oversee and participate in the implementation & monitoring of ALL HR Functions; These include, but are not limited to :

  • Manage HR budget and report back to the Management Board.
  • Ensure internal POPI compliance.
  • Strategic recruitment and selection.
  • Performance and change management : appraisals, salary grading, performance bonus assessments.
  • Employee relations; retrenchments, disciplinaries.
  • Talent management & succession planning : career path planning.
  • Take responsibility for the execution of all aspects of HR business-as-usual operational functions and monitoring.
  • Oversee payroll and staff benefits.
  • EE & BEE :

  • draft strategy, statutory reporting, and planning, submit information to the verification company for certification.
  • HR Governance :

  • Ensure business adheres to HR policies & procedures and legislative compliance.
  • Business Partnering :

  • Establish regular engagement opportunities with business to understand business strategic objectives and ensure effective alignment with the HR strategic objectives.
  • Mentor, guide and advise directors & internal heads regarding people management and HR processes.
  • Ad-hoc Projects :

  • Action business & HR related projects within agreed project timelines.
  • Employee and Industrial Relations

  • Make regular contact with assignees to ensure work satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve assignee queries, problems & grievances promptly and in a professional manner.
  • Drive employee wellness initiatives and attend to employee well-being issues.
  • Ensure that all assignees are managed on a day-to-day basis.
  • Operational Management of assignees

  • Compile maintain and update weekly / monthly HR reports (i.e., recruitment tracker, staff list and termination list).
  • Ensure timeous submission of employee attendance sheets and compile summary time management report for payroll.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate resolution of queries, complaints, and grievances (i.e., facilitate meetings between parties and the issuing of warning letters;
  • drafting and issuing of responses; reporting on the outcome of enquiries and ensuring that sanctions are implemented).

  • Coordinate contract renewals.
  • Ensure all leave types recorded and deal with abuse of leave types.
  • Ensure all IODs on site attended to and that assignees get medical attention at the time of the incident.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and send to the regional COIDA administrator.
  • Reporting

  • Complete weekly and monthly dashboards and submit to management.
  • Compile and deliver accurate reports per client requirements as and when required.
  • Qualifications and Experience :

    Relevant HR qualification (HR degree or honors).

    5 years relevant HR experience.

    Manage a staff compliment of 60 employees.
