This position is responsible for safari sales and reservations and you will be reporting to the Sales Manager.Responsibilities and duties : Handling of safari requests from agents with costing and accurate information within the required turnaround timeProactive response to agent requests including suggestions on itinerary design, routing, logistics, alternatives, upselling, offering additional information as neededFollow booking procedures set out in the operating manuals when booking all properties, vehicles and activities that make up the safariOn confirmation complete the safari file with all the information requiredBuild and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the smooth running of the sales processFollow up with agents after a safari for any feedbackReport any errors or issues to your line manager immediately on discoveryProvide proactive support to colleagues in peak of leave timesProactive approach towards your personal and departmental targets and working together with management to ensure we reach these targetsFollowing and adhering to all sales procedures as set out in the operating manualsAttending all training that is offered and proactively growing your knowledge of the company by researching our products (as well as that of 3rd party suppliers) and the countries in which we operateUse systems to their maximum potential and play an active role in helping to improve where possibleAlways look for ways to increase sales from your accounts and play an active role in increasing the performance of the sales office Skills & Experience Required : Experience in, and knowledge of East Africa Safari salesSkilled in designing detailed and individualised quotes for itinerary requestsExcellent sales skills and the ability to upsellExcellent communication skills a service delivery mind set and a strong customer service focusTarget orientated, and experience of delivery results in a performance oriented and fast paced environmentAbility to find commercial solutions to problemsGood knowledge of sales systemsStrong administration and organizational skills with great attention to detailAbility to work well under pressureProactive mindset ad can-do attitudeExperience in handling difficult situations (e.

g. complaints, last minute requests, changes while travelling)Experience in and willingness to handle issues outside of office hours when requiredAbility to work independently as well as within a broader team setupEnergetic and eager to learnSkills & Experience / Advantage : 10 to 15 years’ experience of the broader industry sector (hospitality & tourism)Experience in selling safaris in East Africa preferredExperience and good understanding of the safari tourism environmentExperience of as many aspects of the industry as possible, more than one side of the fenceExperience of dealing with and delivering on western business demandsExperience with travel and reservation systemsRequired work practicesAcross all interactions, promote the image of the sales team as a best in class externally with our clients and internally with key stakeholdersAs key point of contract and the face of the company, upholding and contributing to the reputation of the company as a leading safari operatorThe Company values that play an important role in how we define ourselves and set ourselves apart.

You are required to work 9 hours per day including lunch break. The working hours are depending on the team set up and business requirements.

Flexible work from home days are permitted as detailed in the offer of employment and the work from home guidance documentYou may be required to work alternative South African public holidays, for which you may be compensated with time off in lieuOvertime may be required during peak periods, for which you may be compensated with time off in lieuWe operate a 24 / 7 emergency phone that rotates between consultants for which you will take full responsibility according to a roster for 1 week at a time.

Overtime may be required during peak periods.You will be required to travel for work from time to timeSalary : R 23 000 R 26 000 CTC depending on experience
