Title : Accountant : Reporting & Assets

Role based in Richards Bay, South Africa
We are looking for an Accountant : Reporting & Assets , to plan and supervise the processing and reporting of financial information
Reporting to the Superintendent - Finance, you will :
Maintains the fixed assets register by processing disposals and ensuring data accuracy on RTBS
Co- ordination useful live review of fixedassets
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end income tax and deferred tax
Assisting with the submission of all direct and indirect taxes to SARS ( including VAT 201, Income tax IT 14, withholding tax) on an ad hoc basis.
Assisting with addressing ad hoc queries from SARS.
Provides advice on compliance, definitions and technical implications of the accounting standards
Assists in reporting of monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual financial statements.
Ensures that the reporting of financial and cost transactions is compliant to set standards and procedures and is in accordance with the relevant internal Financial Reporting Standards, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements and laws and regulations that govern Richards Bay Minerals.
Preparation of journals, monthly reconciliations and general ledger accounts.
Review of audits of EFT payments and upload of transactions to banks mainframe to effect payment.
Ensure that the company operates within the boundaries of its policies and has a strong control environment to prevent or detect fraud or error.
Carries out forecasting and budgeting functions for reporting purposes.
Assists in budgeting and forecasting by providing relevant reports and advice.
Reviews general ledger accounts to ensure that it is set up .
Maintenance of the fixed asset register of the company.
To succeed in this role, you will have :
B Com Accounting Degree
Honors in B Com Accounting / CA (SA) (Highly advantageous)
Advanced Computer skills (MS Office and RTBS / SAP)
3 years’ experience in a financial accounting discipline.
