Credit Risk : Bad Debt Management
Credit Risk Analyst : Collections & Recoveries
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Credit Risk Department of TFG Financial Services for a curious, highly motivated individual to provide analytical support and to quantify strategic portfolio initiatives to help reduce credit risk across the lifecycle.
The successful individual will be supporting senior members of the Credit Risk & Operations teams in order to :
Collate and track champion-challenger test results
Perform deep-dive analysis using large datasets to help inform business decisions and explain adverse movements in credit portfolio metrics
Develop and track forward projections of key risk metrics
Formulate and present findings to peers
Engage with relevant stakeholders to obtain key related information which may affect the test and / or test outcome
Follow the lead from Senior analyst to analyse a specific champion-challenger test in the lifecycle and quantify impact
Extraction and preparation of data
Provide analytical solutions to complex business problems
Documentation of analytical processes and results
Effective communication and presentation of analytical results and credit-related topics to peers and relevant stakeholders
Ad-hoc and deep-dive analyses relating to portfolio performance, legislative changes, shock events and operational breakages
Data mining of credit bureau and other external data to provide insights and trends
Ensuring appropriate statistical methodology and data mining / analytics techniques are applied to any modelling process to deliver and deploy robust and effective models where necessary
Model tracking to ensure effective model life cycle management
To take up this challenging position you should have :
A degree in a numerate discipline, preferably Statistics / Mathematics / Operations Research / Engineering (Honours / Master’s degree preferable)
Excellent data interpretation skills
Advanced problem solving, judgment and self management skills Knowledge and experience in statistical / data management software packages (SAS / SQL) Enterprise Miner would be advantageous
Knowledge of the credit industry and credit life cycle management is preferred
Hands-on experience of large-scale customer database data interrogation and manipulation would be advantageous
Experience with data mining and statistical techniques such as logistic regression, decision trees, cluster analysis etc. is preferred
Good strategic and conceptual abilities would be advantageous
Working as a Credit Risk Analyst, you will have a strong ability to translate data into a story, be able to make recommendations based on findings and be a good team player.
You will also need to be numerate with a strong commitment to the improvement of the credit risk strategy.
Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
