A well-established company specialising in the manufacturing and supplying of various agricultural products to the farming industry requires the above to strategically manage and oversee the effective leadership of the operations, production and maintenance teams.
Minimum requirements for the role :
A Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical, Microbiology or related-sciences or an Engineering Qualification would be preferred.
Previous experience working within a manufacturing plant, ideally within the agricultural, pharmaceutical, food, engineering or related industry is essential.
Able to work independently.
Must be able to think out the box, process things quickly, and have the ability to make critical decisions.
Person must be able to manage staff and understand machinery.
Must be able to make critical decisions.
Factory, production or maintenance management experience would be advantageous.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Overseeing production, maintenance, quality, health and safety and supply chain which includes inbound and outbound logistics, as well as warehousing and purchasing.
Ensuring that shift targets are met on a continuous basis.
Ensuring that all production conforms to product specifications.
Controlling all expenditure per the approved budget.
Ensuring that all interdepartmental documentation is completed accurately and timeously.
Maintaining housekeeping per Health and Safety Regulations and Procedures.
Monitoring employee conduct and taking the appropriate action when required to do so.
