Our team is growing fast, not only in the number of people we’re hiring but also the number of plants we’re producing! Over the next few months, we’re leading the charge behind a world-wide partnership of plant-based platform producers teaming up to tackle COVID19 as well as scaling our capacity to develop enough proteins for diagnostics test kits to meet the demand to defeat COVID19.

With everything that needs to be bought and all the sales that need to be recorded, we need a Bookkeeper that has a love for creating order out of chaos and getting into the nitty-gritty of our complex finances.

Experience : +3 years in a relevant industry, experience in a scaling and fast-paced environment is beneficial. Education : NQF level 6 accreditation and above.

Knowledge : A grasp of the life sciences is beneficial. Requirement : We are an essential service during lockdown, playing an integral part in efforts to combat COVID 19 by producing proteins for test-kits.

You will be needed in the office, irrespective of the lockdown and presence of COVID 19. Responsibilities :

  • Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, ensure legal requirements compliance
  • Develop systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
  • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
  • Balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
  • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries
  • Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Comply with government legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports;
  • advising management on needed actions
