This position is for OKHA Interiors based in Gardens Cape Town JOB SUMMARY The PR Manager is a public relations, communications and media specialist whose overall role is to cultivate brand identity, grow brand awareness and develop audience growth using traditional methods and digital channels.
Core functions include development and implementation of the annual strategy, reporting on brand activity, relationship building with media to secure coverage, social media management, development and management of media content and brand collateral and direct marketing through regular newsletter send-outs.
The role forms part of the media team and reports to the Creative Director. Department : Media Department Reports to : OKHA Creative Director Starting : ASAP KEY RESPONSIBILITIES BRAND STRATEGIES Develop Brand Strategies Present monthly / weekly reports Update Action Lists (weekly meeting agendas) Compile and monitor annual media budget Manage graphic design briefs and production Develop and maintain Media Schedules for press and social media Liaise with Marketing Manager and assist with the annual Marketing Strategy Update vendors / resellers with brand content and cultivate shared PR opportunities BRAND COLLATERAL Upload / coordinate upload of new website content Maintain updated OKHA product spec sheets Develop and manage brochures with the graphic design department Monitor and order stock (notepads, USB, business cards etc.
Content and Copywriting for all print and digital channels MEDIA PUBLICITY Photoshoots : Project management, photographer briefing and liaison Media Lists : Keep current and up to date Press Pack / Release : Co-ordinate design timelines with the graphic design department Secure Press Coverage SOCIAL MEDIA Compile monthly calendars and obtain approval from the Creative Director Review and analyse strategies and research new social media ideas Schedule content posting with a social media assistant.
Boost top posts to target locations Compile Quarterly Social Media reports which cover strategy and analytics PUBLIC FORUMS Define an annual plan and broader strategy for awards, events and networking opportunities Negotiate speaker and networking opportunities, event manage where necessary Prepare and submit award entries DIRECT MARKETING Newsletters : Draft copy, drive design with Creative Director, distribution (MailChimp) Share analytics in weekly and monthly reports Manage MailChimp Database INTERNAL COMMUNICATION Quarterly Magazine : compile brand and media highlights, assist with OKHA Directors letter ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CRITERIA Qualification in marketing, media, PR, journalism or similar relevant qualification At least 2 years of experience in marketing, publicity and social media Proven experience in strategy planning and execution Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Experience with paid online and print advertising Experience with analytics and reporting Experience with online content management systems Experience with managing social media platforms and communities Excellent writing skills including copy for collateral and media releases Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Organised Ability to multi-task Ability to meet deadlines, and follow jobs through to completion Highly motivated and the ability to take initiative and solve problems Proactive and engaged Ability to work independently without supervision Dynamic with good interpersonal skills Positive and flexible A keen interest in social media and trends Own transport ADVANTAGEOUS CRITERIA Knowledge of or prior experience in the design / furniture industry.
Knowledge of or prior experience in the retail industry. Knowledge of In-Design / Photoshop. Drive to help grow OKHA internationally.
Additional Languages (other than English and Afrikaans). A passion for getting to know the international media in the interior design and furniture space. A good eye for design.
