A global award winning company that are experts in strategy, branding, marketing, campaign and content conception, design and production are looking for Senior Account Manager.

This position has primary responsibility for the leading and management of a few high profile clients within the global development sector.

You will focus on the accurate and timely delivery of strategic and creative work, ensuring high impact results for the project which will be geared at driving change through campaigns in the areas of multi sectoral development, advocacy and awareness.

This is the ideal role for someone who is motivated and driven by purpose, loves a strategic and creative challenge and knows what it takes to pull all the elements of an integrated campaign together to deliver results!

Responsibilities : Business Development

Business Development

Work closely with the Co-Founders of the company and senior members of the various teams to lead and drive proposal development

  • Work with other members of the agency to prepare responses to Requests for Information and Requests for Proposals from clients including project costing.
  • Ensure that clients are aware of all the services that the company can offer and have a solutions focused mindset at addressing the challenges our clients have.
  • Spot opportunities for new business and share them with the Co-Founder or fellow senior team members.
  • Actively sell the company's services and think of ways to make our work more impactful for clients.
  • Client Relationships

  • Build and maintain good client relationships, beyond just the transactions.
  • Participate actively and take a lead in client calls, run and control clients projects
  • Meet regularly with project teams to plan and progress project and client activity
  • Work strategically with clients to further their work in various areas of raising awareness, advocacy and development
  • Gather, share and act upon feedback from the client on campaign / project work to build reputation, learnings and adjust the approach for future projects.
  • Strategy

  • Plan and conduct research (Desktop and Field) to gain deep understanding of the complex issues our clients are working on.
  • Develop an understanding of marketing strategies and tactics that will be appropriate and effective within the specific context of multilateral organisations and the sensitivities of communicating in this environment
  • Develop an understanding of why creative work has been developed and its relevance to a client’s / project strategy
  • Work with Digital Analysts, strategists to clearly articulate and develop and clear strategy for each project / campaign that will effectively reach the audience and work with the various role players to implement that strategy
  • Creative

  • Develop ideas briefs, feeding in research / account / marketing knowledge.
  • Brief creative teams in a simple, concise, yet inspiring way, ensuring, at all times, that they are fully aware of the client’s requirements and expectations.
  • Engage constructively on creative work and provide evidence-based opinions that will lead to more impactful and effective work.
  • Ensure that the creative output matches and exceeds the client’s brief and company standards.
  • Present and sell tactical creative ideas that will amplify the clients work to their audience.
  • Challenge client thinking when appropriate in line with campaign objectives and core creative idea / critique work in a constructive manner in line with the brief and in full cognisance of the environment and sensitivities of the project.
  • Champion and demonstrate passion for the agency’s creative output and always fight for excellence!
  • Delivery

  • Demonstrate organisational and time management skills to effectively manage work requirements and tasking of your team members on specific projects / campaigns.
  • Ensure senior account team members are aware of all critical client deadlines to enable them to support you in prioritising work.
  • Take client briefs and develop communications proposals for approval within the company and also with clients technical and communications teams.
  • Take ownership of all accounts / projects within your portfolio, referring upwards when necessary / appropriate.
  • Brief appropriate company personnel on assigned projects.
  • Manage and update project tracking tools (e.g. progress reports, translation and print trackers etc.) on a daily basis with the assistance of your Project Manager / Account Executive.
  • Develop and review production timetables with the Production, Animation and Creative delivery teams, monitor progress of projects against timetables and effect timely delivery.
  • Create and maintain resource / reference files to assist the team on assigned projects in conjunction with Account Executives / Managers.
  • Take client feedback throughout the development and role out process and act as an intermediary between client and agency throughout the sign-off process maintaining a good rapport between the two and acting for the good of the project at all times.
  • Ensure that both internal and external teams and project stakeholders are involved in projects are informed of all developments, including time, budget and delivery issues, at every stage of the sign-off process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process and optimise quality, impact and effectiveness.
  • People

  • Develop good relationships with all internal departments and cross-functional teams as well as a network of specialists who may be contracted on your project because of unique experience and skills.
  • Encourage teamwork and good communication.
  • As a senior member of the Client Services team, assist where possible with the coaching and development of more junior members of the team for example, Account Executives and Project Managers.
  • Proactively support the Co-Founders, suggesting new ideas and questioning thinking where appropriate.
  • Requirements :

  • Relevant tertiary education.
  • At least 12+ Years industry and Senior Management experience.
