Job Description : Import Entry Clerk - JHB Processing of all SARS Customs documentation for the PEZ branch as well as adhoc clearances for other branches when required to ensure timeous clearance of inbound cargo.
These include, but are not limited to, SAD500 (DP-IR-GR), voucher of corrections. Processing of refunds (CR1 - DA66) and DA70’s (Provisional payments), Processing of cargo dues and cancellation orders.
Ensure clearances are effected in line with the Customs Acts and other legislative requirements or Laws. Ensuring Compliance in terms of the companies Customs compliance accreditation.
Monitor and control of the EDI System for release, query and stopped clearances. Assisting internal departments with Tariff advice and Duty, VAT calculations for Estimates, etc.
Immediately notify the Operations and / or the National Customs Manager of clearance errors or issues that will / could result in risk to the company.
Processing of TDN and VDN applications (willingness to learn if no experience). Applying for ITAC Import Permits on behalf of clients (willingness to learn if no experience).
Assisting clients with queries relating to clearance department, Performing other related duties, as assigned. Cargo Wise knowledge will be an advantage Educational / Experiential Requirements : Matric certificate 5+ years of experience in Customs air and / or ocean import Operations Demonstrated experience Knowledge of Customs Legislation Knowledge of other statutory clearance requirements (Permits, prohibited & restricted goods, NRCS, MCC, etc) Preferred Qualifications : Relevant Customs Certification or qualification or equivalent experience Relevant Professional qualification Interested candidates can send their CV
