5 years post qualification as a Fitter and Turner artisan in a production / manufacturing environment would be a minimum requirement for this role.

Incumbent would need to have experience managing / overseeing a team of artisans. Knowledge with regards to CNC machine tools would be advantageous.

Working knowledge of following essential :

Hydraulic systems - fault finding and repairs

Pneumatic systems - fault finding and repairs

Cooling and water reticulation systems - including Heat Exchangers, Cooling Towers, pipes and pumps

Actuators, Cylinders, Valves, Gear boxes, Bearings, Drive train and transmission systems

CNC Machine tools - repairs and fault finding (Advantageous)

Conventional machine turning and milling

Lifting equipment

Professional / Tertiary qualification :

Grade 12 or a Technical N2 / N3

Qualified Artisan - Fitter and Turner

Certificate in Hydraulics

Certificate in Pneumatics (Advantageous)
