  • Reporting directly to the Head of Treasury, the role of Treasury Manager is a key role within the Group Finance division ensuring that all Treasury activities within the Group operate at the highest standards of treasury best practice.

    Directly supporting the Head of Treasury with the management and operation of all Treasury processes. The role will support capital management, financial risk management and liquidity management.

    C ash and Liquidity Management

  • Identify, recommend and implement process improvements to enhance cash management efficiency, including but not limited to :
  • Bank account structures, cash pooling structures, managing the Treasury Management System and other transaction banking services.
  • Support the Head of Treasury in running RFP’s for various cash management services, manage the related external and internal documentation related to the project and project execution in a timeous and efficient manner.
  • Monitor cash settlements of intercompany balances and provide recommendation for funding intercompany accounts.
  • Manage the repatriation of funds from foreign subsidiaries.
  • Manage letter of credit and bank guarantee requests including; issuance, renewals and reporting.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting

  • Accountable for cash flow projection, manage the liquidity funding requirements and investment opportunities to maximise the cash efficiencies across the functions, enhance the interest return on surplus cash and identify / monitor key cash flow drivers (dividends pay-out, management fees and other intercompany transaction settlement).
  • Closely co-operate with the group tax team and individual business units to maintain an adequate capital structure and manage the execution of cash repatriation plans.
  • Risk Management

  • Hedging of FX exposures related to product purchases which has a direct impact on intake margin and the profitability of the group.
  • Executing foreign exchange transactions.
  • Ensure Group compliance with various exchange control regulations.
  • Treasury Reporting

  • Preparation of various treasury reports for the senior finance team, internal and external auditors, banking groups and other stakeholders.
  • Perform analysis of market information gathered from several internal and external sources to support effective decision making by senior management.
  • Relationships

  • Maintain strong relationships with cash management providers and internal stakeholders across multiple functions such as Group Finance members,
  • Group Tax, Company Secretariat and Group Auditors.
  • Prepare reports for treasury subcommittee’s monthly process as delegated by the Head of Treasury.
  • Partnering with the Finance Managers responsible for P&L budgets and forecasts relating to treasury activities.
  • Other Activities

  • Involvement in strategic and bespoke projects.
  • Optimisation, management and improvement on the Treasury Management System.
  • Identify key areas which require improvement and implement procedures / projects to address areas in need of improvement.

  • Experience :

  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant post qualification experience.
  • Prior experience within a multinational treasury environment with knowledge and understanding of cash management techniques, foreign exchange hedging strategies, international banking, risk management & accounting would be advantageous.
  • Foreign exchange execution and dealing would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to Treasury Management Systems (Kyriba, IT2, FIS etc.) would be advantageous.
  • Skills :

  • Superior analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skills with proven successful project management experience.
  • Ability and eagerness to continually expand financial management skill-set and company-specific knowledge base.
  • High degree of initiative and personal responsibility to anticipate issues, find solutions, and drive resolution.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage a team effectively with minimal guidance (both direct and indirect reports).
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team, instilling a culture of responsibility, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Team Player.
  • Enthusiasm for change and receptive to new ideas.
  • Ability to efficiently build strong relationships at all levels and across the Group.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others at all levels.
  • Willing to be as hands on as a situation requires.
  • Excellent eye for detail.
  • Education :

  • BCom Honours (Economics, Finance or Accounting) / CA(SA) or CFA level 1 or above.
