Position Responsibilities / Requirements

We are searching for candidates who have extensive exposure to Windows based applications, Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase databases.

Technical training will be given on all the required components but candidates must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.

The candidate should have a keen interest both in the financial markets and in software for trading and risk management.

You should have a degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial sector, software industry or in a financial software technical support environment.

Key Duties :

  • Provide software configuration services to FIS clients
  • Troubleshoot production system issues
  • Manage interfaces and automated process failures
  • Apply patches and upgrades to customer systems
  • Contribute to systems architecture planning sessions
  • Documentation of systems, controls and monitoring
  • Backup and restore of customer databases
  • Responsible for the system health from an application / server / network / connectivity / scheduled jobs / data maintenance / DR / running and monitoring of interfaces perspective.
  • Oversee the physical landscape including servers, clustering, backup, automated restores of test environments, installation and configuration of software components, automated deployment of changes, mapped network drives for report delivery, FTP, connectivity and feeds for test environments, monitoring of system health, performance, memory usage, disk space, log files.
  • Design processes and systems to quickly identify, investigate and solve production issues.
  • Build good relationships and processes for interacting with other application support teams in the bank.
  • Analysing current systems and data to identify and understand new requirements, recognising the need for system enhancements or modifications if necessary.
  • Refining the customer requirements in detail, document and present back to the client for final approval.
  • Installing, configuring, customizing, testing and analysing various Front Arena components taking into account the interaction between components, the clients architectural landscape, system performance and data maintenance.
  • Essential background :

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft / Unix / Solaris / Linux Servers
  • In-depth knowledge of database technologies (SQL / Sybase)
  • Basic scripting abilities
  • Desirable background :

  • Previous experience as an analyst programmer or developer
  • Knowledge of IP-based networks
  • Database Performance optimisation techniques
  • Knowledge of Financial Services
  • Working understanding of Capital Markets instruments both listed and OTC
  • Basic programming experience
  • Business application support
  • Problem management - liaising with relevant parties to achieve a resolution
  • On-site experience from working in a technical role in financial software implementation projects.
  • An overview knowledge of Front Arena
  • Knowledge of C / C++, Sybase, SQL Server and Python
