The ideal candidate will have to strategically plan, direct, and control the financial and administrative functions of the business, with the focus on creating a financial sustainable business environment.

This position will report directly to the company CEO and indirectly to the group CFO.

Responsibilities :

Financial Reporting :

  • Prepares and presents management accounts.
  • Prepares and presents financial reports to assist in decision making & planning.
  • Ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Ensures accuracy of the Daily Sales Report & other management reports.
  • Cash Flow management.
  • Plans, maintains, and utilises the cash resources to meet obligations and business objectives.
  • Budget preparations :

  • Manages the budget process and compilation of a feasible, accurate annual budget.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting.
  • Prepares and presents cash flow forecasts.
  • Provide insight and analysis regarding risk, financial and operational implications to enrich decision making.
  • Participates in the provision of strategic financial information.
  • Financial Control & Compliance.
  • Establishes and maintains financial control functions to ensure conformance to legislation, policies and procedures and accounting principles.
  • Payroll :

  • Manages and coordinates the monthly payroll.
  • Audit :

  • Oversees the annual financial and BEE audit.
  • Ensures all audit requirements are met.
  • Ensures financial information and the team is prepared and audit ready.
  • Insurance :

  • Responsible for preparing annual insurance renewal information.
  • Liaise with insurance brokers when dealing with claims.
  • IT & Information systems :

  • Oversee compliance and operational integrity of information systems.
  • Safeguard financial and other key information.
  • Ensure business is compliant with POPI requirements.
  • Business Management :

  • Translation of business goals into measurable objectives.
  • Ensure the financial department supports operational teams to enable them to meet strategic objectives.
  • General :

  • Guide, mentor and upskill the finance team and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and assist with daily accounting and reconciling of control accounts.
  • Monthly VAT calculations and submission.
  • Requirements :

  • Minimum Education : B.Compt Hons Degree.
  • Advantageous Qualifications : CA, CIMA, Articles.
  • Minimum Work Experience : At least 3-4 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in working on various accounting software.
