Job Summary :
The Software Engineer will assist in implementing and developing various functionalities of Feko, Altair’s suite of electromagnetic solvers as well as propagation and network planning tools.
The primary focus will be the Finite Difference Time Domain.
What You Will Do :
Focusing on FDTD, you will extend and improve our existing computational electromagnetics code in Altair’s Feko, a suite concentrating on electromagnetic solvers.
This includes continuous bug fixing and high-level customer support.
As a software developer you will implement these numerical routines by programming in Fortran, C++, CUDA, etc.
By attending conferences, reading and publishing papers, interactions with universities, etc, you stay up-to-date and will remain a leader in the EM field.
Thereby, also identifying and implementing new features required by the industry.
Use existing processes in Git, Jira, Confluence, etc. during your daily duties
Work efficiently and help grow a specialized time domain group within the Feko team, with a long-term goal of leading this group.
What You Will Need :
PhD, Master or Engineering degree in electromagnetics
Minimum 5 years’ experience in time domain electromagnetics (preferably with Finite Difference Time Domain), including scientific programming, numerical algorithms, code optimisation / tuning
Programming skills in Fortran / C++ / CUDA
Experience with Windows, Linux and High-Performance Computing (MPI, OpenMP, etc)
Able to work with little supervision and within a team
Fluency in English
