Minimum Job Requirements :

  • B.Com or National Diploma in Financial Accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Key Performance Areas :

  • Assist with input into financial strategy.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to management and all operational areas.
  • Maintain and update Accounting systems.
  • Prepare operational budgets & forecasts and load both on the system.
  • Prepare financial reports and returns (monthly BU management pack).
  • Investigate and action financial variances (budget / forecast).
  • Produce BU Flash Results and analyse variances.
  • Compile balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Investigate and action balance sheet account variances.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Liaise with central functions and facilitate reconciliations to substitute subsystem.
  • Prepare and plan year-end statutory audit (external and internal) in line with the consolidated audit plan.
  • Prepare ledger balances and an initial trial balance including all reconciliations, balance sheet accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Follow up and action audit findings. Liaise with Auditors regarding specific requirements.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and cash flows to ensure settlements and maximise performance.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital.
  • Revalue foreign creditors and bank accounts.
  • Prepare Forex forecasts.
  • Purchase Forward Exchange contracts.
  • Complete Capex / disposal / transfer applications.
  • Monitor and report Capex monthly spend vs. budget.
  • Together with Logistics department, manage stock holdings.
  • Prepare and submit insurance declarations.
  • Review and authorise creditors payments.
  • Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Prepare business tax returns (VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, WCA).
  • Comply with value-added tax administration.
  • Maintain and update the tooling account.
  • Manage credit risk (insure debtors book, etc.).
  • Identify improvement opportunities and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse and interpret finance reports and statistical data.
  • Prepare financial reports and returns.
