Vacancy Details Employer : Latitude Resource An established international Fast Food business with a growing South African footprint is seeking to employ a GIS Development Analyst in either their Cape Town or Gauteng based offices.

The GIS Development Analyst will have primary responsibility for analyzing data, creating client-facing content and presenting the data in a compelling way.

In addition, interpret client needs, find the information that addresses the needs, and present the information in the best suitable format possible.

Further, they will need to track and analyze all aspects of the local commercial market and will leverage that knowledge proactively for research products, competitive analysis, company projects and business development efforts.

Salary - R30k to R43k per month, negotiable and dependant on skills and experience QualificationsA BSc, or BA Degree with a major in GIS / Geomatics is a must, MA or MSc Degree with a major in GIS / Geomatics will be preferred.

Town & Urban Planning qualifications will be also considered, but applicants must have solid skills in GIS. Other relevant courses and qualifications in conjunction with the right experience will also be considered Skills, Experience and RequirementsTwo years plus experience in a relevant field, using GIS in a Property / Town Planning / Retail / Insurance / Banking or Market Research Related field.

Solid data management and spatial analysis experience in ArcGIS, MapInfo or any established open-source GIS package like QGIS Solid GIS knowledge good theoretical base and practical data capture, management, and analytical experience Experience in Business / Commercial GIS industry and more specifically within the Retail and Property markets will be preferred Database - Excel, Access, SPSS or other GIS enabled SQL databases will be an advantage Financial revenue modelling skills will be an added benefit Sound mathematical and statistical capabilities Spatial and non-spatial analytical experience based on GIS, Census and Demographic datasets Strong spatial awareness and orientation Proven report writing skills Good communication skills ResponsibilitiesCollects data on consumers, competitors and market place and consolidate information into actionable items, reports and presentations Compile and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect IT Interprets data, formulates reports and makes recommendations Evaluates program methodology and key data to ensure that data on the releases are accurate and the angle of the release is correct Gathers data about consumers, competitors, and market conditions Develops and evaluates methods for collecting data, such as surveys, questionnaires, and opinion polls Understands business objectives and design models to be used in the benchmarking of current stores as well as the prediction of future stores.

Identifies new market opportunities. Performs valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis Make use of online market research and catalogue findings to databases Evaluates program methodology and key data to ensure that data on the releases are accurate and the angle of the release is correct Converts complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports Develops sales strategies in tandem with marketing department.

Map creation / land-use mapping Monitors and revise financial feasibility studies
