Stellenbosch - My client, a well-established international travel company is seeking to employ a Commercial Operations Executive with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role to join their dynamic team.
The successful candidate will report to the Commercial Operations ManagerRequirements : GDS skills (in at least 1 GDS recently)Understanding of airlines fares, in particular net fares and cat25 / 35 pricingUnderstanding of flight sales market / tour operator marketAbility to communicate positively and effectivelyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh levels of accuracy and attention to detailAble to work on own initiativeKnowledge of MS Office particularly ExcelAttend and contribute in a positive and objective manner at team meetings or any relevant departmental / company meetingsAcknowledge correspondence within set standards and timescalesAssist other departments when and where necessary to ensure business continuity and minimum standard performanceMaintain systems to ensure quality controlStrive to continuously improve the quality (presentation, accuracy, and coverage) of information relevant to the businessKeep accurate records, data information and filing systemsDuties will include but not limited to : Monitor Fares Dept.
e-mail inboxSense-check incoming fares and contractsCorrespond with airline fares support teams over queries / errorsLog and investigate airline ADMs, and liaise with Customer Support to rectify and identify regularly occurring errorsCollate all data needed to set up new airlines or revenue streamsHave a comprehensive understanding of each airlines nett fare structure and rulesMake airline fares available online & via NDC / GDS to SLAsBecome proficient in all 4 GDS fare distribution toolsAnswer airline fare and product queries from internal or external customersCommunicate clearly and effectively to set SLAs to internal or external customersHave a good understanding of each airlines’ products, routes and USPsBe fully conversant with booking systems, raising cases to fix issues related to airlines revenue streams.
Carry out checks and testing of fares released, and bookings subsequently madeCreate good relationships with airline suppliersLiaise effectively with Marketing & Customer Support teamsBe able to produce accurate reports from reporting system and / or update excel data supplied by airlinesUpdate website notifications boardProcess refunds and follow up with Finance and Flights Teams on queries related to UTTER refunds.
Create airline / fare user guides for GDS and company intranetTo make available online, to set Service Levels, appropriate airline faresTo communicate new fares, changes, updates to relevant internal and external customersTo respond quickly to fare queries from internal customersTo be able to distribute and price fares across 4 main GDSTo identify outstanding fares that will be commercially beneficial for the business to promoteTo help reduce losses from airline ADMsTo obtain profit from unused ticketsTo help and assist GDS bookers with GDS related matters / Fare loading and training.
