Introduction

Our premium client is a leader in providing railway transportation solutions.They develop and market the most complete range of systems, equipment and services in the railway sector.

Their solutions include rolling stock, signalling, services and infrastructure which can be offered separately, bundled or supplied as fully integrated solutions.

Due to their employment equity requirements they are looking for a well seasoned Supply Chain Manager to be in charge of all the Logistic teams (employees and / or external provider) in Nigel, focus on the design of physical flows and its execution, while contributing to profitability improvement in logistic costs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Supply Chain processes vs Industrial requirements
  • Define subcontractors’ requirements
  • Define Vendors' requirements regarding logistics
  • Define warehouse layouts, its internal flows and storage policy
  • Define line feeding layout and kitting associated
  • Define Rolling Stock & construction handling
  • Plan & Manage material receipt and inbound transportation
  • Plan & manage Stock Entry
  • Manage picking and kitting
  • Manage line feeding
  • Plan & manage packing, shipping and outbound transportation
  • Manage inventory accuracy & integrity
  • Manage Scrap
  • Métier internal standards / identify needs & define requirements for internal standards,
  • Define, improve & validate internal standards, manage internal standards deployment
  • Métier external standards / identify needs & define requirements, contribute to external standards definition, improvement & validation, manage the impact of external standards on processes & tools, manage external standards & regulations deployment
  • Métier Performance / Collect Site or Country Monthly KPIs, Manage Site or Country Improvement Action Plan, Review Site or Country Monthly KPIs
  • Métier Finance / Prepare Budget, Manage Budget construction, Release Final Budget, Review Budget
  • Ensure operations are executed in an environment that complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies
  • Desired Experience & Qualification

    Minimum Requirements

  • Supply Chain Management experience of at least 5 to 8 years in an industrial / manufacturing environment ideally Automotive and at least 15 years experience in supply chain / logistics
  • Advanced knowledge of SAPR3
  • Exposure to global engineering practices
  • Proven project management experience
  • Analytical
  • Sound knowledge of Industrial and Supply chain processes
  • Excellent and concise communication and leadership skills
  • Active team player, deadline driven, process driven
  • National Diploma or Bachelors degree Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • Willing to be based at Nigel- Ekurhuleni)
