MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Mining industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Construction / Site Manager
  • Construction experience with SMPP (Steel, Mechanical, Piping and Plate work construction)
  • Ability to compile Method statement and Risk Assessment
  • Ability to conduct Rigging Study
  • Piping Installation experience will be advantageous
  • Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills :

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF4)
  • Section 13 Trade Certificate or Sect 26 or 28 with modules
  • Valid Medical certificate of Fitness (BMI less than 30)
  • Valid First aid Certificate
  • Computer literacy (MS Project, Bisight Viewer, AutoCAD Viewer)
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Able to solve problems within agreed standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Team leadership and management skills
  • Sound listening communication skills.
  • Self-motivated self-starter with high levels of initiative
  • Able to make decisions within agreed parameters.
  • Tertiary qualification in BSC construction management and or BTech Building Science will be advantageous
  • Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for MHSA on site and implementation of the MHSA and Project Execution Plans.
  • Ensure execution of the Construction tasks / activities in accordance to design and specification in time
  • Working collaboratively with the end Client and key stakeholders
  • Ensure all resources undergo safety inductions on site and the necessary PPE provided as required
  • Attended daily / weekly project meetings with the Client Construction Manager to provide feedback on progress and to provide feedback to the team
  • Meet weekly with the Project Manager and project team to discuss the progress and report on site progress / risks / concerns
  • Set performance targets for direct reports and discuss and monitor performance.
  • Ensure leadership and motivation by establishing an open and transparent communication process
