This borderless and innovative model enables education loan financing to students from across the globe, whilst using predicted post-degree affordability rather than present-day salary.

Since 2007, Prodigy Finance has extended over US$800 million through the platform to fund over 16,000 students from over 150 countries.

Our team of over 200 (and growing) is already truly global. Our head office is in London with much of the team being based in beautiful Cape Town.

  • What you will do in the role

    You will join the Data team in developing and executing a structured data analytics program across the business. You will need to gain a complete understanding of all our available data sources, execute data gathering and cleaning, analytics and visualisations, as well as supporting the self-service data initiative throughout the organisation.

    The ideal candidate will possess experience in the financial services industry delivering accurate and actionable analytical information, have an inquisitive nature, a strong commitment to privacy and professional ethics, a customer service orientation and a flexible, entrepreneurial approach to solving problems.

    Key responsibilities are :

  • Developing insightful dashboards, reporting and metrics in Tableau (or other visualisation tools)
  • Working with Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift hosted on the Amazon AWS cloud platform
  • Interpreting, analysing and storytelling of data through visual presentations and dashboards
  • Enabling all of business to derive data insights by improving the way they access and interact with data
  • Supporting business in productionising reports or views created through self-service
  • Understanding and translating stakeholder requirements to inform decisions about data modelling, analytics and visualisations
  • Creating views, transformations and blending of data sources to meet business requirements
  • Make changes to existing reports / testing and developing new reports

  • Who we are looking for; track record must haves

  • Experience working with Tableau (or similar visualisation tools)
  • In depth working knowledge of server products with programming skills in SQL / BQL
  • 3+ years previous professional experience in a data-centered role (finance industry preferred)
  • A degree in IT / Computer Science / Information Systems or a similar discipline is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database development and data reporting software
  • Business analysis experience (preferred not essential)
  • Strong communication skills as you’ll be working with varying skill sets and different parts of the business
  • Must be adaptable to change and the fast pace of a dynamic company
  • An individual capable of working alongside a tech team but also capable of working in isolation to deliver reporting requirements
  • Experience that would be nice to have (but we’ll trade off if everything else fits)
