A leading pharmaceutical company based in the northern parts of Johannesburg is searching for an experienced IT BIM (Business Information Manager) to maintains and ensures the availability, security, performance and optimization (continuously improvement) of the existing IT environment in cooperation and coordination with the global and regional service providers.

In order to be considered the following is required :

  • MBA / MSc / Bachelors in IS or IT
  • 1 3 years management experience
  • International exposure in daily business
  • Working in a global matrix organisation
  • Business and Technical excellence, business and user orientation, delivering results, external focus, strategic and analytical thinking combined with fast and focused execution, open for innovations and change, ability to work in a team and collaborate, excellent communication and conflict management skills, planning and organizing
  • Good in Key Account Management
  • Leadership abilities (driving performance, supporting the development of employees, aligning across functions and organisation, fostering open discussion), change management to foster changes, ability to organize and coordinate projects and project teams, ability to organize user trainings and workshops
  • Depending on OPU size and requirements and with approval of the supervisor MAG, the BIM can additionally cover following tasks and responsibilities :
  • Acts as local Information Protection Officer / LIPO according to Corporate Security Guidelines
  • Takes over transversal activities such as RIPO tasks (e.g. regional Information Protection Officer (RIPO), DPO (Data Protection Officer), LSO (Local Security Officer) or any other tasks
  • Takes over functional (M&S, EFP, GBE, INF, GQC) IT tasks such as regional Demand Management for a specific function, Service Desk and IMAC / R, responsibility for HW, SW and License inventory, Incident and Problem Management, System and SW Lead and any other tasks as defined and agreed upon
  • Responsibilities :

  • Manages the proper budgeting and support the planning and purchasing of the required IT assets
  • Supports the business by demand management, key account management, internal consultancy and project management
  • Ensures that specific trainings are organized for local work force (trainings for applications, security awareness, office systems)
  • Ensures that the required documentation is developed and maintained
  • Ensures the required level of audit compliance
  • Ensures the compliance with Global IT Governance / Strategies / Guidelines in alignment with local legal requirements and (R) OPU business demands
  • Represents the global IT within the OPU management team
  • Responsible for local (internal or external) people management
  • Enable business optimisation by providing value added business consultancy
  • Clearly define requirements and prioritize demands (in alignment with the relevant function) to provide the appropriate IT services in close partnership with business stakeholders on all levels
  • Harmonization and standardization of Application landscape, reduction of duplicate applications for the same purpose
  • Delivery performance control on projects and services aligned with Global IT strategy
  • Responsible for good key account management for local business, proper communication of the IT functions and strategies to the different countries business functions and accountable to meet the countries business functions' targets

  • Compliance of IT processes and services with local laws, regulations and SOPs
  • Local security and compliance and Audit coordination
  • Responsible for the alignment of local business requirements with the relevant IT governance processes and strategies
