Job Description

  • Representing the company at the CCMA (conciliation and / or arbitration process).
  • Ensuring accurate electronic & physical employee records
  • Implementation of group HR projects
  • Coordinating HR projects
  • Managing incapacity cases and the related payment process as per the Nampak policies
  • Representing management in labour matters to reconcile opposing claims and recommend concessions or proposals for adoption
  • Monitoring adherence to HR policies and procedures
  • Assisting operational management with professional advice on people related issues
  • Driving employment equity / transformation processes
  • Managing the recruitment and selection process ensuring vacancies are filled as per staffing requisitions; within agreed deadlines and in accordance with plant policies and guidelines
  • Compiling accurate monthly HR statistical reports and submit these as per set deadlines
  • Creating and maintaining a harmonious relationship with employees at all levels of the organisation
  • Driving capacity building initiatives
  • Coordinating and participating in various plant forums e.g. union-management meetings, EE Forums
  • Handling disciplinary hearings and grievances (formal process - ensuring procedural and substantive fairness
  • Monitoring HR trends and offer counselling and advice to line managers and employees on HR related issues
  • Providing HR and ER support services to the plant
  • Job Requirements

  • General knowledge of HR administration and payroll
  • Understanding of HR and business value chain
  • Have personal attributes of resilience, accountability and strong moral ethics
  • The ability to exercise high levels of confidentially
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels
  • Demonstrate an understanding of relevant legislation e.g. LRA; OHS Act, Equity, BCEA, Skills Development
  • At least 4 years relevant Human Resources Generalist experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor Degree in Industrial Psychology / Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum Grade 12
