SUMMARY :

A dynamic engineering company based in Richards Bay is in need of a CNC / MC Milling & Turning Programmer and Setter with experience on Fanuc controls.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and grow into a supervisory role with the company.

POSITION INFO : Requirements :

Requirements :

Matric or Related Technical / Tertiary qualification

Minimum of 3 years Programming experience on both Milling & Turning CNC machines

Experience programming on Fanuc controls

Valid driver''s license

Must reside in Richards Bay or surrounding areas OR able and willing to relocate at own expense

Must be willing to stay and grow with the company

Duties / Responsibilities :

Customers

  • Ensure all customer documentation is completed
  • Promotion of customer requirements
  • Customer liaison
  • Quality

  • First off verification
  • Attach go-cards and green stickers
  • Random inspection to be done on batch and logged on job card
  • Ensure Quality documents are completed / filled in
  • Ensure Quality checks are being carried out
  • Monitor Operators to check that quality inspections are being carried out
  • Ensure components have rust prevention
  • Corrective actions
  • Pre set-up
  • Ensure the necessary tooling, jaws, measuring instruments, programme, material, drawings etc required for the jobs are at the machine prior to set-up
  • Reduction in set-up time
  • Eliminate online tasks
  • Move online tasks offline
  • Facilitate online tasks
  • Pre-production

  • Ensure all new jobs are logged down on computer generated schedule
  • Break down jobs to be reflected on schedule
  • Relevant job card is acquired
  • Prepare the necessary documentation to enable production
  • Drawings : Ensure correct level is used
  • Ensure necessary details are reflected on job cards i.e. these may be in regard to the material; parts; equipment dimensions behaviours;
  • properties or the process in terms of quality, health, safety and environmental issues - Must be recorded on the job card

    Production

  • Program optimization, reduce run time within reason
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Setting of machines and tool selection
  • Tooling control, storage and maintenance
  • The operational process - general and overall
  • Monitor efficiency levels and take necessary action to achieve targets
  • Production reports, ensure timesheets are correctly filled in reflecting actual information and timesheets are collected and handed in for data capturing
  • Completion of necessary production documents
  • Shop floor

  • Definition of job requirements
  • Interview potential candidates
  • New employee duty list
  • Monitoring of employees progress
  • Register detailing employees responsible, should be kept to monitor defaulters
  • Monitoring effectiveness of action taken
  • Training of all new employees are required i.e. tip wear, reading of measuring instruments, changing of tips etc.
  • Draw up duty lists for existing employees
  • Toolbox talks
  • Carrying out the necessary disciplinary action for offences committed
  • Repairs & Maintenance

  • Control of company equipment
  • Replacement / repairs of equipment
  • Service of machinery and records (18 months apart)
  • Ensure daily maintenance schedules are filled in correctly and filed on completion
  • CNC service log sheets
  • Record of unsafe equipment i.e. "not to be used" and marking thereof
  • General

  • Housekeeping - this includes machines, tooling racks, work benches, jig racks and area around the swarf bins
  • Notification of finished components - Notify QC when components are completed for final inspection and dispatch
  • Identifying needs and completing purchase books (Workshops)
  • Review / Inspection of infrastructure i.e. production facilities, equipment, support services, work environment - caters adequately for parties concerned (provision of resources)
  • Obtain rules, regulations / legislation governing use and maintenance of equipment
  • Ensure safe working environment
