Successful candidates receive extensive and superior training for the first three months (as a salaried employee with full benefits).
The type of service staff provide ranges from tax, unit trusts, investments, annuities, pension funds, death claims, discussing current economy, global events that affect the world stock markets and so on.
Some queries may be mundane and routine e.g. clients wanting to switch investments, queries regarding instructions not processed.
You will also have investors / potential investors call in order to discuss the latest global factors that affect the outcome of financial markets.
Thus you must have a passion for the finance / economic industry, knowledge of economic trends or desire to learn. For example, you are required to keep up with the latest news and developments that affect global financial markets.
PLEASE NOTE : This role falls within a service centre environment (an exceptionally high level environment). You are the first point of contact when a client phones into the company and as such, you are the ''''face of the company.
When clients call in, the staff member taking the call has no idea what the question or query will be. Thus, you need to understand and all the company products and the various funds that clients may invest in.
Please note : you are not allowed to give any financial advice - staff are not "Financial Planners or Brokers"! You may only offer information regarding the funds.
You will receive exposure and training in all aspects of the business, including Unit Trust, Fund of Funds, Life Funds, Regulation 28, Annuities (this is not covered by any university course), Performance Calculation and Attribution etc.
You will also be trained how to do presentations. This role prepares you for a career and growth in the Investment / Asset Management industry!
You have a degree (not a diploma). If you hold an undergraduate degree it will be advantageous if you are studying towards an honours or other post grad qualification.
Types of degrees : Honours or Masters (or studying towards a post grad qualification in Finance / BCom Law / Financial Management / BCom Management / Risk Management / Economics / Portfolio Management and Investment Analysis / Economic Sciences or degree etc. (excellent results)
Other degrees : LLB / Engineering / Geology / Psychology etc and wish to pursue a career in the Investment / Finance / Asset Management industries are welcome to apply.
However, you will need to motivate why you want to move into the investment industry.

To service investors, potential investors and financial advisers with transactions and queries for all products telephonically and via written correspondence through :
Discussion and explanation of all funds and products offered by company.
Assisting clients with process information and quotes.
Assisting clients with the tracking and follow up of transactions in progress.
Responding to queries regarding investment performance.
