This role will have significant impact and focus on building software engineering capability within the Financial Markets delivery teams.
The responsibilities will be to improve technical practices, contribute in shaping group technical approaches, platforms and frameworks.
The expectation will be for the Technical Lead to build relationships with technical leads, architects and developers across Iress to drive technical alignment and remove technical blockers and fill regional technical knowledge gaps.
The Technical Lead will coach delivery teams on engineering best practices.
The technical lead will support delivery teams by co-designing software, features and automate testing and infrastructure provisioning.
What you will be doing
Supporting delivery teams through advice, coaching, leadership and enablement of engineers within Iress.
Identify opportunities to improve our engineering rigor within teams.
Remove technical obstacles for delivery teams to deliver quality and value.
Liaise with the Iress Platform team to unlock value in our platforms and be the conduit between the delivery teams and the Iress Platform team.
Be the conduit between the delivery teams and the Iress Platform team and unlock value by promoting and supporting our platform strategy.
Review existing designs and assist in establishing and implementing initial architectures for new services and solutions.
Communicate the technology strategy to others within Iress, including technology group as well as other stakeholders.
Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms and tools. Analyse the risk and impact of technology change to the global technology leadership group.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software engineering best practices.

Expert knowledge and experience designing, developing and supporting low latency, message-driven and multi-threaded systems.
Automation through the implementation of solutions as-code .
Expert in software engineering principles and practices.
Great communicator and influencer with a can-do attitude.
Is a motivator and can be respected by the broad range of technologists at Iress.
Ability to facilitate technical workshops effectively and efficiently.
Demonstrated experience in delivering software in multiple programming languages and in multiple operating environments and platforms.
Must have extensive .Net skills and experience.
Experience delivering solutions within Agile teams using Scrum and / or Kanban.
