Mossel Bay - This Branch of the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, (SPCA), is looking to appoint an experienced Branch Manager who will bring sound managerial experience of a team of at least 40 people.

Ideally you may have some experience of animal welfare and knowledge of the legalities involved in this arena, but training through the National Inspectorate will be undertaken irrespective of former experience.

It is essential to bring excellent senior level business skills in terms of financial controls, strategic planning and human resources performance, and ideally you will be able to identify closely with the ethos and ideals of this national animal welfare organisation.

Your key RESPONSIBILITIES are : Implementation of strategic and operational business plans.Management, planning, organising and control of all departmental outputs (including Inspectorate Kennels, Vet Clinicand Adoptions).

  • Continuous improvement of all operational processes to improve efficiency, quality, and fulfilment of the Garden Route SPCA'
  • s mandate.Provide input into the branch budget, implement financial controls, and ensure budget compliance.Ensure optimal staff performance and utilization of human resources through leadership, training, motivation, and sound discipline.

    Ensure legal compliance of branch in accordance with NSPCA regulations, Municipality bylaws, OSH Act, LRA, BCEA and other relevant legislation.

    Prepare monthly Management Committee Reports.Manage all infrastructure, buildings, equipment, vehicles, and tools.Overall Management of of all staff, in the BranchQUALIFICATION CRITERIA : The suitable candidate must haveRelevant Business Management Degree with at least 10-year proven management record managing compliment of at least 40 people or more, in a practical, hands-on business environment.

    Sound Financial acumen and proven record of financial controlsExcellent HR Management experience, including performance reviews and disciplinary procedures.

    Must be conversant in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape.Must have clear credit and criminal records
