Established nearly two decades ago, our client has built a steady and substantial portfolio of residential and mixed-use assets, predominately situated in the heart of Jozi.
They manage their portfolio in-house from rentals to facilities & maintenance and utilities. Their management team, which is responsible for more than 2000 units, have specified departments for Property Management, Leasing & Marketing, Maintenance, Construction and Finances.
To be based in Johannesburg CBD, they require a Financial Manager, but due to the small team this role will see you easily exposed to certain Asset management and operational functions.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the billings process ensuring that all rental and utilities are accurately loaded, performing recons from Banks and Creditors to Loan Accounts, managing utilities, ensuring payments to municipalities are processed in time, resolving queries, evaluating, and analysing tariffs, charges, and tenant recoveries.
Budgeting, forecasting, and analysing the performance of cost centres would be required from you from time to time. You will be responsible for monthly payroll and wages, as well as processing of PAYE / SDL, Vat all the while ensuring statutory tax compliance.
With a team of 4 reporting into you, training and performance management will fall to you, including managing and reviewing procedures and policies for HR, and IT.
To be considered for this role.Although a CA (SA) is preferred you will need to have a minimum of a BCom Degree in Accounting and between 5-3 years’ experience as an Accountant in the property sector.
