Product Owner (Digital Deals / E-Commerce)

Are you an experienced Product Owner ? Do you have experience in the E-Commerce industry?

Well we have a position for you!

Our client, a giant global telco company, is looking for a Product Owner for their newly launched products. The ideal candidate has strong Scrum and Agile Methodologies experience.

The Headquarter is in Johannesburg. This position is remote.

As the Product Owner , you will love to build products and have a natural curiosity about the technology stack required to deliver on it.

You represent the business stakeholders and leads to understanding product use cases, business applicability and the impact thereof.

You should be the voice of the customer guiding the devops team to build a product that resonates with their customers.

The objective of this role is to also put the customer at the heart of all operational activities, focusing on channel optimization and performance.

Type : Full-Time Permanent

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have :

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field

A total of eight or more years’ experience of which at least three or more years is in the successful delivery in Product Ownership (or equivalent role) across full product life cycles, from MVP to marketable products in iterations, including support transition

Experience in successfully leading and mentoring agile / DevOps teams in large multi-team environments

Experience in agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming (XP), Test Driven Design and Behavioural Driven Design

Experience in successful delivery against financial / resource constraints

Experience in the use of analytics and AB / multivariate testing

Experience with requirements definition and use case modelling

Proven professional experience in a product management or analytical role

Understanding of different technology platforms, their features and being able to work with solution architects / engineering leads and write detailed product requirement documents, manage future roadmaps and deliverables

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to minimize overhead tasks for the team and manage interdependencies with other teams

Excellent relationship building and influencing skills, with the ability to foster an inclusive team culture

Excellent verbal and written communications and collaboration skills

Excellent business & financial acumen and understanding of the role of the capability in contributing to business value

In-depth understanding of both the current Telecommunications and digital services market and emerging business and technology trends

A strong customer-centric focus and intuition, with an entrepreneurial and ROL mindset

Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy

Strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple balls, and comfortable working under pressure

Flexible with planning and work estimation, managing and empowering the team (without needing to micromanage)

Able to continuously balance between the customer and commercial needs

Digital / software product ownership in large scale environments

User story definition and refinement

Expertise in Agile Software development environment and methods

Market research, design thinking, and lean start-up methods; business modelling

Customer experience design of digital products and services

Analytics / AB / multivariate testing and related tools

Data-driven decision making

Your responsibilities will include :

Work closely with the tech / agile team to develop user stories, acceptance criteria and full business benefits, and convey the vision onwards

Developing and executing on a customer-centric value driven product roadmap, while crafting, ranking and prioritizing user stories to maximise recurring users, product usage and adding them to the team backlog

Own, drive, and focus the team on delivery of business value and content, conveying a clear vision of what is required to be built

Approve the final release plan and accept all deliverables against defined user stories and acceptance criteria

Proactively manage, analyse and report delivery risks and opportunities, and engage stakeholders for communications and collaboration skills decision-making, ensuring technical sound decisions can be made

Participate in retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities, ensuring analytics in place to measure and act on key KPIs

Acts as single point of business contact for the DevOps team

Manage the financial plan for the delivery team, providing forecasts
