Midrand - My client in the rail industry is looking for a Transport Co-Ordination Manager. Qualifications and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.

Previous railway experience and knowledge of rapid railway network systems. Accident / Incident investigation experience.

Safety management qualification. At least 5 years’ relevant experience in similar position. Transport Management will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities : Responsible for ensuring that all conditions are fulfilled for the safe operations of trains and the safety of passengers.

Manage and be accountable for all OCC, Traffic and Road Activity Staff. Responsible for train traffic management and for appropriately dispatching all information / alarm regarding events / incidents which do or might impede train movement and / or station operations.

Job Description : Ensure that the Traffic manager is accountable for the entire traffic unit. Be accountable for the bus contract by overseeing and ensuring the smooth running of bus and midi bus operations.

Negotiate bus contracts Ensure compliance to all applicable legislation. Define policies, standards, rules and procedures and control the implementation thereof to achieve smooth operations.

Prepare, Review and present annual budget. Collaborate with Learning & Development Manager in deciding on the contents of Train Driver, Conductor and OCC training documents.
