PURPOSE : To provide cutting-edge productivity related research, statistics and innovative solutions to improve the productivity and competitiveness of the economy and industry.
DescriptionTo oversee the research and knowledge management activities of the organization through a focus on a broad-based portfolio of productivity related research topics and publish the reportsDesigning and managing research projects effectively and efficiently, including ensuring that research projects adhere to strict academic rigor and ethical standard, tracking research projects for successful completion and influencing how research outcomes are used for programming, policy and advocacyWorking with the marketing and communications department to promote a culture of productivity and competitiveness in the workplace and in society.
This include collaboration in developing a communication strategy and implementation that is research led and communicated to relevant key stakeholdersInteracting with and building relationships and joint initiatives with leading economists and other key players in academia.
This include engaging with the media and other stakeholders through speaking engagements, writing and publications such as commentary and presenting at conferences locally and internationallyCreating a conducive intellectual and research environment and to make Productivity SA the Centre of excellence on productivity and competitiveness research.
Maintaining a database of productivity and competitiveness systems and Develop measures and indices (financial and business efficiency -
operational and management practices) and conduct assessments in companies facing economic distressConduct the macro-environment and impact (monitoring and evaluation) analysis to inform on the strategic direction of the EntityProfileA Master's Degree in Economics, or Masters in Philosophy : Information and Knowledge Management Ideal : Doctorate in Economics or Information and Knowledge Management10 years' experience at Management level, 5 of which at a Senior Maanager in Research and Knowledge Management
