The Software Business Analyst reports to the Account Asset Manager and is accountable for the Management of the Customer Specific Software IT Assets.
Specific responsibility is on the tracking of changes and the provision of an accurate and auditable Software Asset Management Database.
The Software Business Analyst also assists with the actioning of changes to the Software environment as reported through the official processes.
Manage the Software Asset Administrators in their day-to-day activities
Delivering on the defined Asset Management Life-cycle Strategy
Delivering on the Governance as defined by the Asset Management Team Lead
Deliver against the Customer Specific Asset Management Processes and Procedures
Assist in implementing changes to the BAU Operations as identified by the Account Asset Manager
Actioning on or assigning of calls as received via the various processes
Assist with the population & maintenance of the Software databases
Assist in identifying critical success criteria's and develop KPI's that can adequately measure success
Baseline the current Software Database and accuracy of the asset records
Identify any gaps between the Software baselines plus the "current state' asset records to the "desired state"
Monitor the 'master data sources' within the Software databases to ensure high asset data integrity
Assist in the implementation of the Customer specific Continual Service Improvement Plan as agreed to
Provide daily / weekly / monthly reports as defined to the Account Asset manager
Action on escalations and provide prompt feedback
Evaluate and assist in the implementation of Asset Tools
Perform DML and / or Disposal activities as agreed
Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the Software database
Identify License Compliance and report immediate exceptions
Assist in the drafting and maintenance of the Approved Software list
Identify and escalate process failures immediately to the Account Asset Manager
Assist in Projects that may affect the Software Asset Database
Grade 12, NQF Level 4 plus Industrial engineering or relevant degree, NQF Level 6
Business management degree optional
3-5 years in business environment AND
3 to 5 years of IT / technical experience
1 to 2 years of Asset Management Life-cycle experience
Experience in Configuration Management a plus
Experience with ITSM, Remedy, Tivoli or similar tools preferred
Problem and Risk management knowledge
Certifications : ITIL V3
Thorough knowledge of IT Configuration & Asset Management disciplines
