Our client based in the Jet Park is looking for a Financial Manager. The role is responsible for providing financial leadership to the business unit with full ownership of the effective functioning of the divisions’ financial function for which they are responsible Qualifications Chartered Accountant (SA) or Relevant Financial qualification with significantly increased experience 3-5 years Financial Management experience in a similar sized business Experience at Senior management level Competencies Good Statistical skills Strong Analytical skills Communication skills Interpersonal skills Risk Management skills Reporting writing skills Strategic Management skills Networking ability Work with minimum supervision Ability to handle pressure, take ownership and accountability and drive good commercial outcomes with the managing Responsibilities A contributing member of the executive management team Implement a Finance Business partnering mind-set that supports the BU head to drive the business plan and outcomes for the BU in line with the agreed strategy Focus on achievement of financial targets and business imperatives People Development own & team Achievement of SMART GOALS Absolute professionalism in the performance of all functions Responsible for the divisions Cash Flows, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Reporting, management Packs, Budgets, Forecasts and Audit Ensure that the structure of and allocation of roles and responsibilities for the financial department lead to an effective and efficient performance Ensure the financial records are produced in an accurate and effective manner in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and procedures and in line with IFRS Responsibility for the internal controls that ensure accurate record keeping and the safe guarding of assets.

  • Make and implement recommendations for improvements were appropriate Ensure that the principles of good corporate governance are applied at all times Clean and effective annual audit Ensure adherence to Group policies and procedures Identify, recommend solutions and implement improvements to processes and procedures including appropriate documentation Manage cash flow and cash flow forecasting Conduct costing and feasibility studies for new initiatives Ensure effective cost management Effective month end procedures and close Manage and control the Credit management procedures and policies and ensure that collection targets are set, maintained and achieved Take overall responsibility for the credit management function in the BU Effective and timeous production of monthly management pack and presentation for submission to group Continuous improvement of the daily, weekly and monthly reporting to ensure that management across the division has timeous, accurate and value adding management accounts to assist in decision making Conduct and present a complete analysis of the monthly results (Branch Reporting) Effective and timeous production of internal monthly reporting at all levels required Ensure that the managing executive has all required information and explanations for the monthly review Complete submissions for Monthly Review Pack Reporting required for BEE audit Complete detailed reports for taxation Prepare a full bottom up budget and consolidate into the divisions annual business plan Ensure that the business plan complies with the group and divisional imperative Highlight risks in respect of the achievement of the business plan Business plan will include Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Investments and CAPEX, HR development, statistics and adherence to strategy Ensure all identified risks are appropriately communicated and provided for Ensure compliance with group risk procedures and insurance requirements and standards Ensure all insurance reporting requirements are met Understand the divisions contribution to the Group Insurance Cell Captive and recommend corrective client and utilization actions that will maximise the Cell Captives performance Ensure that the principles of good project management are applied Ensure accurate and timely reporting on project costs and benefits and compliance with budgets and approvals Manage the role out and implementation of Financial projects Post implementation review Lead and manage the financial department promoting the achievement of planned divisional objectives and targets by ensuring that COMPANY has a high-performance culture Ensure that staffs roles and responsibilities are clarified, performance objectives are set and managed and conduct performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and take corrective actions where necessary Ensure that training and development needs are identified and actioned Take ownership of your own growth and development needs and ensure planned actions are affected Ensure that succession plans are in place and implemented Build a pro-active environment where the managers can take responsibility for results Ensure that Employment Equity targets are set and achieved Ensure identification of critical skills essential for sustainability of service delivery and the development of succession plans;
