This is a challenging role for an analytical and strategically astute Sales Executive looking to make his / her mark with one of South Africa’s leading suppliers of engineering consumable products.
Our brief is to identify an exceptionally competent individual with above average analytical skills coupled with a defined leadership competence to direct the operations of a sales team of close on 70 personnel based at 5 sites around the country.
Based in Cape Town and dealing with 44 product categories and around 22, 000 active SKU’s, our client is looking for a visionary leader to :
Create and manage sales budgets & forecasts
Monitor and analyse performance metrics and drive improvement
Manage recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives
Lead & develop nationwide sales team members to achieve growth and meet or exceed sales & profit targets.
Optimise sales processes and introduce tools where necessary.
Develop and implement effective sales strategies in order to expand the company’s customer base and ensure strong presence in existing markets.
Identify & develop new potential customers and new & emerging market opportunities.
Identify market shifts and competitor movements and develop strategies to address
Develop and implement a consistent market related pricing policy and tools
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships with existing & potential large customers.
Negotiate and close agreements with large customers
Given these responsibilities, we are looking for someone whose background and experience include :
Tertiary level educational E.g. BCom / BBus Sc / BEng / MBA
A solid track record of implementing systems & processes that track, manage and drive sales performance and growth.
Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
Strong communication and excellent negotiation skills
Proven work experience, at National sales management level, in growing business and consistently meeting or exceeding targets
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
Relevant industry experience & market knowledge
Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional & proven analytical skills to understand and analyse sales performance metrics
Relevant industrial / mining / manufacturing / construction customer base (preferably also in Africa)
