Why this role is exciting :

We are scaling our finance function and looking for a Business Unit Senior Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager in the Corporate Accounting team.

This person will be based in Cape Town overseeing the financial management for all the subsidiaries in our global business which are not currently fully integrated to the central finance functions.

This may include various foreign subsidiaries as well as recent acquisitions. In addition, this role will work with FP&A, legal, corporate accounting, FinOps, Treasury, and the strategy teams to onboard the operations of recent acquisitions.

This role will operate similar to an FM of these specific units.

Responsibilities :

  • Overall responsibility for the current subsidiaries which do not have their financial operations onboarded to the centralised finance teams.
  • This includes building relationships with key suppliers and management of those entities to have a deep understanding of their business and to be the key bridge between internal management and Impact finance.

  • Drive integration of all new acquired entities into existing processes and and systems.
  • Review the monthly results provided for these subsidiaries against forecast and acquisition targets for appropriateness and provide insights to the corporate accounting function for month-end reporting.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Accounting, HR and Taxation teams to deliver against the calendar to ensure our on-going compliance with local legislation, managed by the Group Compliance Accountant.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the corporate accounting team during peak periods.
  • Does this sound like you?

  • CA(SA) required - Big 4 preferred
  • Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in high growth multi-national organisations
  • Excellent internal stakeholder service and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working across multiple geographies including the US, Europe, SA, Singapore, Australia and China
  • An independent, self-motivated individual who works well under pressure with a positive, service- oriented attitude
  • Self-starter with a great work ethic and an analytical thinker with superior problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent multi-tasker who is always on it with stellar time and project management skills; understands the importance of planning in advance to meet deadlines that include multiple review points and iterations
  • Strong communicator, both written & verbal; reliable and responsive to email and phone communications
  • Highest level of integrity and good judgment, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information
  • Strong computer skills, including Gmail, google calendar, google docs, and Microsoft office
